The same number has infinite spellings: 123430 = 123.43 x 10^3 = 1.2343 x 10^5. The difference between them is only the exponent - how many powers of ten you lift the mantissa up by. Choose the exponent and a new, perfectly equivalent form appears.
Change Number Exponent re-pins any number to a new power of ten. Pick a target exponent from -300 to +300, paste up to 1000 numbers, and each gets a rebuilt mantissa so the value is mathematically unchanged - useful for fitting notation rules or matching SI prefixes.
