Duplicate Resource Name Detector

Find duplicate kind + name pairs across pasted manifests.

Runs entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded and no cluster connection is made.
Your report will appear here.

About Duplicate Resource Name Detector

The Duplicate Resource Name Detector reads every manifest you paste, collects each resource kind and metadata.name, and reports any (kind, name) pair that appears more than once.

Duplicate names in the same namespace cause apply failures or silent replacements, so catching them before you deploy saves debugging time.

Nothing is uploaded. The analysis runs entirely in your browser.

Features

  • Cross-manifest - scans every pasted doc.
  • Kind + name - per kind duplicate detection.
  • Multi-doc - paste many manifests at once.
  • Copy / Download / Print - export the report.

How to Use

  1. Paste your manifests (one or many, separated by ---).
  2. Click Detect.
  3. Rename any duplicates.

Examples

Example 1 - clash. Two Pods named web are flagged.

Example 2 - unique. Distinct names pass.

Benefits

  • Avoid apply errors - catch name clashes early.
  • Batch scan - many manifests at once.
  • Private - runs fully in the browser.
  • Exportable - copy, download or print.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this detector find?
It collects the kind and metadata.name of every manifest you paste and reports any (kind, name) pair that appears more than once. Same names in different namespaces are still flagged because the check is name-based.
Why is this useful?
Applying two manifests with the same name in the same namespace fails or silently replaces the first one. Catching duplicates before apply avoids surprises.
Does it consider namespace?
It reports on (kind, name). If you also want namespace separation, treat same names in different namespaces as intentional.
Does this connect to a cluster?
No. Paste your YAML; everything is analysed in your browser.
How many manifests can I paste?
As many as you like - separate them with --- document separators or just paste them together.
