Frequently Asked Questions

How is bounce rate calculated?
Bounce Rate = (Bounced Emails / Emails Sent) x 100. For example, if you sent 10,000 emails and 300 bounced, your bounce rate is 3%.
What is the difference between hard and soft bounces?
Hard bounces are permanent failures — the email address doesn't exist, the domain is invalid, or the server permanently rejected delivery. Soft bounces are temporary — the inbox is full, the server is down, or the message is too large. Hard bounces should be removed immediately.
What is an acceptable bounce rate?
Below 2% is good, below 1% is excellent. Above 5% is a red flag that can damage your sender reputation. Industry average is 0.5-2%. New lists or re-engagement campaigns may see higher rates.
How do bounces affect deliverability?
High bounce rates signal to email providers (Gmail, Outlook) that you have poor list quality. This can cause your emails to be sent to spam, your sending IP to be blacklisted, or your ESP account to be suspended.
What is a deliverability health score?
The tool estimates a deliverability health score (0-100) based on your bounce rate, hard/soft ratio, and list hygiene practices. Above 80 is healthy, 50-80 needs attention, below 50 is critical.
Is my data stored?
No. All calculations run in your browser. Nothing is transmitted.
