About Generate Strikethrough Numbers - Write Numbers with a Strikethrough on Them

A strikethrough is honest typography: the old value stays visible, but the line says it no longer counts. Combining long stroke overlays give every digit a permanent strike - old prices and corrected totals strike out cleanly in plain text.

Generate Strikethrough Numbers runs the Unicode combining long stroke overlay through every digit. Paste up to 1000 numbers and get copy-ready crossed-out digits for drafts, revisions and corrections.

Features

  • Combining overlay: A long stroke through every digit.
  • Portable strike: Survives copying into plain text.
  • Legible output: Digits stay readable underneath.
  • Batch mode: Up to 1000 numbers per run.
  • Side-by-side preview: Original next to struck.
  • Private and free: Everything runs in the browser.

How to Use

  1. Enter numbers - one per line, digits with optional sign.
  2. Generate - each digit gains its long stroke overlay.
  3. Preview pairs - original and struck versions.
  4. Copy the struck line - paste into drafts and notes.
  5. Or download - the whole batch.

Examples

1. 99 becomes struck 99 - the sale is over.

2. Old total 1500 stuck out, corrected below it.

3. 2023 struck beside 2024 in a revision note.

4. Estimated 500 gets a strike when the real figure lands.

5. 750 crossed out says the number is withdrawn.

  • Batch friendly: Hundreds of numbers at once.
  • Copy or download: Use in any doc.
  • Private and free: Everything runs in the browser; nothing is uploaded or logged.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the strikethrough work?
Each digit is followed by the combining long stroke overlay (U+0336), which draws a line through that character, so the whole number reads as struck through.
Do crossed-out digits keep their value?
Yes. The overlay is decoration. Struck 75 is still seventy-five - it just looks deleted, revised or withdrawn.
How is this different from HTML strikethrough?
HTML needs tags and styling and loses the effect when copied. Combining overlays are characters; they carry the strike with them into plain text.
Why strike numbers through?
To mark old prices, draft values, outdated totals and corrections - the classic "should have been" annotation in any plain-text context.
Do all platforms render the overlay?
Support is good in modern browsers and apps, though a few minimal fonts render the stroke faintly. Digits always remain legible.
Can I batch process?
Yes. Paste up to 1000 numbers, one per line, and each receives its strikethrough.
How is the output shown?
Side by side: original and struck-through version per line, ready to copy or download.
Is anything stored or uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent, saved or logged.
