JPG-to-ASCII conversion maps image brightness to a sequence of characters. It is an approximation rather than a lossless representation, so detailed photos become simpler text patterns.
The browser decodes the JPG locally through Image and Canvas APIs. Output width controls detail, and a character-aspect correction reduces excessive vertical stretching.
High-contrast logos, icons, portraits, and simple graphics usually produce the clearest results. Fine texture and color gradients may disappear because the conversion uses grayscale brightness.
Choose a JPG, set the width, and click Convert. Clear removes the file state and Download saves the generated text.
