Vastu / Feng Shui Compliance Checker

A house plan is eight directions and a set of rooms, and the traditional disciplines of Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui read each room through the compass. The kitchen should sit in the fire corner, the master bedroom in the stable southwest, the pooja space in the light-giving northeast - and when a room lands in its caution direction, small layout choices often fix what a wall cannot.

Vastu / Feng Shui Compliance Checker is a rule-based screener: set the entrance direction, place each room on the compass, and see each placement rated as recommended, acceptable, or caution - with the reasoning behind every flag. Plot-facing, room placement and orientation are all evaluated through the same directional lens.

Use it to screen a plan before it is built, review a resale layout, or simply understand which corners the traditions treat as which energies. The guidance is advisory - a compass-level screening, not a substitute for a trained practitioner - and everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

• Directional anchor: Set the entrance / plot-facing direction first; the entire check is read from it.

1. Set the main entrance direction. Use the compass buttons - the direction the front door faces.
2. Select a room from the list.
3. Place it on the compass by clicking its sector, or use the direction drop-down under the room.
4. Read the rating. Recommended, acceptable or caution each with its reason.
5. Adjust placements to see how a re-planned layout changes the score.
6. Open the tips tab for corrective actions on any caution placement.
7. Check the Feng Shui tab for the Bagua map of the same directions.
8. Export the report as text, CSV or JSON.

Example 1 - Classic plan. North entrance, kitchen southeast, master southwest, pooja northeast, bathroom northwest, staircase south: every major placement lands in a recommended direction.

Example 2 - Common builder flat. Kitchen northeast adjacent to the pooja, bathroom next to the entrance, master in the northeast: the checker flags two cautions and the staircase issue, with layout fixes suggested.

Example 3 - Tiny-house compromise. A studio where kitchen, living and bedroom share one space: the checker rates the kitchen placement and suggests where to place the stove head and bed within the room.

Example 4 - Rework after scoring. Swapping the spare bedroom (northwest) with storage (southwest) flips two warnings into recommended placements in one move.

Example 5 - East-facing project. East entrance with a southwest master and southeast kitchen scores a clean recommended set; the guide notes the Feng Shui Bagua equivalent for each room.
